- Management before Trust -
Before constitution of the trust the temple of Baba Balak Nath Temple Deotsidh was managed by a local Committee membered by the local people of Chakmoh Village, who were also share holders of temple Income. The Mahant of Temple was the Head of the Committee and the share holders of the temple used to perform the duties of Pujaris. To maintain stores and to keep their record. Bhandaris were also deployed by the Committee. Mahant was the Chief priest and head of the Committee. The Committee of Temple offered the following facilities to the pilgrims as well as local public:-
- Free Langer
- BBN Degree College
- BBN High School
- BBN Ayurvedic Dispensary
- Sarais for night stay
The legislative Assembly of H.P. enacted the H.P. Hindu Public Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowment Act 1984 ( here in after called as “Act of 1984” ) to provide for the better administration of Hindu Public Religious Institution and Charitable Endowments and for the protection and presentation of properties appertaining to such institutions and Endowments. Temple Baba Balak Nath Deotsidh Distt. Hamirpur mentioned in Schedule-1 at item No 11 of the Act of 1984 as Trust.
After seeing the importance of the Temple, the Govt. of Himachal Pradesh took over the management of this holy shrine in 1987 and constituted a trust for its betterment under the “HP Hindu Public Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowment Act-1984”. As per the provision of this Act. The Deputy Commissioner Hamirpur is the Commissioner of Temple, the Sub-Divisional Officer (C) Barsar is the Chairman and Tehsildar is appointed as Temple Officer on deputation basis by the Govt. for running the activities of Trust. Since then lot of development works have been carried out .
